In what thickness is obscure glass available? |
| Obscure
glass is available from a variety of manufacturers and thicknesses.
Common thicknesses are 3mm, 4mm and 6mm. |

| 3.
What makes one obscure glass preferable to another? |
| The
three variables of importance in selecting an obscure glass are: a)
Thickness, which relates to sheet strength; b) Degree of
visibility/obscurity (see visibility comparisons); c) Suitability of the
specific pattern in the glass. |

| 4.
How does the price of obscure glass compare in price to other forms of art glass? |
| Obscure
glass by itself is several times more expensive than float glass, but
that is much less expensive than other forms of art glass. A single
sheet of obscure glass is monotonous, so usually several different
patterns are combined into a leaded glass design. The price for this
artwork approaches that of traditional stained glass becasue of the
labor involved, but the raw glass material is less expensive.
